Fire & Law Enforcement

The Kingman Fire Department is a part of the City of Kingman municipal government. Their services are provided throughout the city limits.

The department consists of career and volunteer employees providing prevention and response activities.

The Kingman Fire Department is a municipal fire department protecting an area 37.5 square miles with a population of just over 35,000 residents.

In 2022, the Kingman Fire Department responded to 9,102 calls for service 85% of which were emergency medical calls and 15% fire, hazardous materials, technical rescue or other emergencies.

The current personnel roster consists of 75 fulltime career personnel, 9 part-time personnel, 4 civilian support personnel, 1 building official, 3 building inspectors, and 3 hydrant maintenance personnel.

The Kingman Fire Department is an all-hazards response agency providing fire suppression, advanced life support emergency medical services, hazardous material response, technical rescue, wildland fire protection, fire investigation, domestic preparedness planning and response, as well as public education and community risk reduction services. Kingman Police Department

Currently there are 54 full time sworn officers, 4 neighborhood services officers, 15 civilian employees and 16 volunteers proudly serving the people of the City of Kingman.

Sworn Divisions within the Department include Patrol, Traffic, Investigations, School Resource, Magnet and GITEM. Non-Sworn Divisions include Records, Animal Control, Crime Lab, Administration and Neighborhood Services.

The patrol bureau is comprised of 32 officers who provide police service to the city 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Officers patrol in marked and unmarked patrol cars. A traffic squad, comprised of 3 uniformed motorcycle officers, provides traffic enforcement and specialized crash investigation skills. Motor officers respond to neighborhoods regarding specific traffic complaints. Enhanced enforcement is provided in several areas in the city designated at “Strict Enforcement Zones”.

The Mohave County Sheriffs Office has 240 full time employees and more than 300 volunteers serving our many communities with pride and professionalism.

Sheriff's Office - Search & Rescue

We are an all-volunteer organization with more than 75 members covering all of Mohave County. Our mission is to assist the Sheriff in serving the community by carrying out search and rescue missions and other duties as requested by the Sheriff.

Our main purpose is to assist the Sheriff’s Office in the search for lost individuals, and if needed, to rescue them. We also help in evidence searches, body recoveries, security at community events, traffic control and we provide assistance during fires and other disasters.

Volunteers are utilized in many areas such as; boating safety, community policing and crime prevention, animal control, media relations, computer data entry, dispatch operations, corrections, prisoner transportation, record keeping, radio communications, and neighborhood safety patrols.
 
Sheriff's Office - Search & Rescue

Mohave County Search & Rescue serves the needs of over 200,000 residents and nearly 5 million visitors annually. Mohave County is the 5th largest county in the United States, excluding Alaska.

Bordered by the Colorado River to the West and Utah to the North, it has a diverse topography of high forested mountains, deep canyons, arid deserts, big lakes and the mighty Colorado River. Temperature extremes can range from sub zero in the higher elevations to over 120F in the low lying desert.

Mohave County Search & Rescue has 4 individual responding units based out of Kingman, Bullhead City, Havasu and the Arizona Strip region.

 
Office of the Constable

Constables are elected peace officers who perform executive duties for the justice courts in the county. The primary duties of a constable are to attend the justice courts within their precint and to enforce civil/crimina court orders arising out of justice court actions. Constables serve civil and criminal process for the justice courts and other competent authority.

Civil process includes: summonses; subpoenas; Orders of protection; injunction against harassment; notices; petitions forcible detainers; writs of restitution (eviction orders); writs of execution (property seizures); writs of garnishment; writs of attachment; writs of replevin (rental property seizure); and body attachments (arrest warrants).

Service of criminal process includes: misdemeanor and felony summonses; subpoenas; warrants; orders to show cause; notices; criminal garnishment; and writs of venire.

Kingman Base
Arizona Department of Air Rescue now operates helicopters out of four bases: Flagstaff , Kingman, and Tuscon, and Phoenix. AZDPS Air Rescue is tasked with state-wide law enforcement missions, medical evacuations, and search-and-rescue tasks.
